Pitt County Sheriff’s Office | Web Design | 2019
Scope of Work:
The Pitt County Sheriff’s Office website needed an update. After meeting with the Sheriff and Information Technology Officer I reviewed their goals and created a proposal that examined the existing website, listed areas for improvement, and outlined a project timeline.
In addition to making the brand look consistent across all platforms and increasing user experience, one of the Sheriff’s goals was to increase confidence. We discussed including uniform and updated images of key leaders on the website and providing individual departments with their own webpages.
Quick links on the home page were added to increase usability as statistics indicated that handgun purchase permits and concealed carry weapon permits were among some of the top searches. Additionally, the previous website did not allow prospective employees to apply online for jobs, with the revamp this was a priority.
Lastly, the Information Technology Officer wanted the ability to manage any updates or changes needed on the website. During the initial planning, I provided options for a drag and drop website builder was comfortable using after the initial website design was completed.
